She married Robert B. McCleary 6/12/1936. From Anna Singer: "Carra was everyone's mother, a natural social worker, and after her divorce she returned to school for an MSW. She worked for a state school for the mentally retarded and tended to her parents through their declining years, helped everyone she came in contact with, and bravely endured the premature deaths of two of her three sons."
