Mary was born in Fauquier County, Virginia ABT. 1730. Mary was the daughter of Thomas Stamps and Mary Rose. Mary died UNKNOWN. According to Anna Singer is debatable whether James B. Shackleford is the son of John Shackleford (1670-1734 rec. # 1091) or John Shackleford (1700-? rec. #1082), the son of James Shackleford (1660-1734 rec. # 711) and grandson of Roger Shackleford (1629-1710 rec. # 713).

From Anna Singer: "Owned a plantation on Walnut Branch of Cedar Run which he had bought from the Stamps family. After Revolutionary War, brought his family including son James to Mason Cty, KY. Mystery: Why would they have picked up and moved to the wilderness?"
