She married three times. She married an unknown person UNKNOWN. She married James Russell Spann. She married Joeseph C. Parsons 10/10/1906. Joeseph was born UNKNOWN. Joeseph died 12/20/1909. [Michael Shackleford says he is uncertain of the spelling of the surname. sbt] From Anna Singer: "The Shackleford children were brought up in Southern-style gentility in the town of Gunnison. But Carra Shackleford Parsons Spann had a hard life. Widowed with 2 small children at age 26, she later became a ranch wife, and according to her sister Lila and niece Louise Harlan Fleck, she worked extremely hard. One morning she served the usual huge ranch breakfast to her husband and numerous hands, said she felt tired, went and lay down, and died, at age 39, presumably of a heart attack. She became a sort of heroine to the women following her in the family, who implied that she had been in effect worked to death by a life for which she had not been brought up in the town household of her parents."
