In addition to the above information the death certificate states that the cause of death was a cerebral hemorrhage. He was married at the time of death. His address at the time of death was 211 North J. Street, Tacoma, Washington. He had resided in that district for 22 years.

Honored in educational and ministal circles in the South and in Tacoma, as resident of this city for 22 years, Rev. John Shackleford died at the home of his son John A. Shackleford, 211 North J. Street, within a few days of his birthday.

Funeral services will be from a chapel at the ??? today at 10:30 a.m. Rev. ??? officiating. Burial in a Tacoma cemetary. Pall bearers will be Frank B. Cole, C.M. Shaw, Philip Reese, Elliot Kelly, Dr. B.E. ???, and Judge M.L. Clifford.

Born in Madison County, Kentucky, Oct. 27, 1834, Dr. Shackleford graduated from Bethany College in 1854 with the degrees of B.A. and Ph.D. Later he entered the ministry of the Christian Church, was in charge of several important churches and later secretary of the American Christian Missionary Society.

Dr. Shackleford is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary W. Shackleford, whom he married December 16, 18??, by brother Judge Sprigg Shackleford ... ??? ... and by three sons John A. of Tacoma, Lewis P. of Juneau Alaska, and of Thomas W. residing in California.
