Problem 82 Explanation

The following is an explanation of the "pass line" bet in craps.

If the first roll of the dice are a 7 or 11 you win.

If the first roll of the dice are a 2, 3, or 12 you lose.

If any other number is rolled on the first throw then the dice are thrown over and over again until either the same roll as the first roll comes up again or a 7. If the number of the first throw comes up again before a 7 you win, otherwise you lose.

For example if the first throw is a 9 you keep rolling over and over until either another 9 or a 7 is rolled. If the 9 comes first you win, if a 7 you lose.

Here are some examples:
7 (you win)
12 (you lose)
8 - 4 - 12 - 6 - 8 (you win)
5 - 11 - 3 - 7 (you lose)
